Converting 4e to 5e
WebI'm wondering if there is a way to convert 4e's defence system to 5e without completely breaking the game. My initial thoughts are as such: Reflex Defence = 10 + Dex or Int Modifier (whichever is higher), Will Defence = 10 + Cha or Wis Modifier (whichever is higher) and Fortitude = 10 + Str or Con modifier (whichever is higher). WebDon't take powers from 4e. 5e already HAS a fair bit of the at will/encounter/daily powers, just divided up in different ways via how they recharge (short or long rest). A good example is the Dragonborn's breath weapon, as it's implicitly an Encounter power, but only recharges on short or long rest. Web4th edition and 5th edition are pretty different. 4e focus's a lot more on the tactical position of miniatures and generalizes the reason for effects into mechanics. However campaign wise fluff and background can be converted fairly easily.
