WebWhile primary commercial service airports handle 10,000 or more passengers a year, non-primary commercial airports tend to be much smaller in their size and scope of service. Non-primary commercial airports are thus defined by the FAA as airports which handle at least 2,500 passengers a year but less than 10,000.
